The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
