SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs - Oceanport, NJ.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Oceanport are programs which are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary benefits aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can get their initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the kind of accreditation it has been given.
