Regular outpatient rehab is usually a less costly alternative to more comprehensive outpatient centers or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse rehab available in Pitman. Some individuals are attending treatment for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and time commitment and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a step down to service following treatment in a more intensive outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient program.
Regular out-patient rehab services offer group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Centers which include a more diverse array of services may include psychotherapies (behavioral therapy) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. The length of time a person stays in rehab can change from client to client, and a person's progress can be evaluated occasionally and more treatment can be recommended based on these conclusions.
In many situations, a regular outpatient treatment program may be insufficient in intensity for a client who is addressing a severe substance abuse problem and has never gone to treatment before or has relapsed after prior outpatient rehab.
