The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
