SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Stirling, NJ.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Stirling are programs who are legally permitted to distribute the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification it has been granted.
