The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people.
