SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - Holloman Air Force Base, NM.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Holloman Air Force Base are programs who are legally allowed to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary benefits aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab center can get their initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab facility is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification that was granted.
