Medicare - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Los Alamos, NM.

Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Los Alamos, Medicare may pay for certain rehabilitation programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees for outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient services, therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental health insurance in addition to Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
