Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
