Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people that do have Medicare and need substance abuse rehabilitation in Copenhagen, this program may pay for various rehabilitation programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various forms of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the expenses associated with outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient services, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want additional health insurance aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
