Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people who do have Medicare and need substance abuse treatment in Darien Center, this program will cover certain recovery programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, this applies to the individual's lifetime.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want additional coverage in addition to Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
