Medicare - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Jamaica, NY.

Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people who do have Medicare and require addiction treatment in Jamaica, this program may pay for certain recovery programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of treatment.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees for outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental coverage aside from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
