Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people who do have Medicare and need addiction rehabilitation in Middle Village, Medicare can cover certain treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want supplemental coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
