Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people who do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Wales Center, this program may pay for certain treatment programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain types of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want supplemental health insurance in addition to Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
