The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency.
