The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
