Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and need addiction recovery services in East Cleveland, this program will pay for certain rehab programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the costs associated with outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want additional coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
