The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients.
