The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
