SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Montezuma, OH.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Montezuma are programs that are legally allowed to give out the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary benefits aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment center can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was granted.
