SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - North Lewisburg, OH.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in North Lewisburg are programs who are legally allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary services aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab facility is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been granted.
