SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Piedmont, OH.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in Piedmont are programs who are officially allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits in addition to medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can receive basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment program is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
