Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals who do have Medicare and require substance abuse rehab in Tiffin, this program will cover certain treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the expenses associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs administered by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want supplemental coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
