Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and require addiction rehabilitation in Vienna, Medicare may cover various treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various kinds of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want additional health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
