The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
