SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs - Apache, OK.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Apache are programs that are legally allowed to give out the medicines used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab program can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification that was granted.
