The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
