SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Inola, OK.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Inola are programs which are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab program can receive basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation it has been given.
