SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers - Jet, OK.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation centers in Jet are programs that are legally allowed to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can get their initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been granted.
