SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - Leedey, OK.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Leedey are programs which are officially permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can get their basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab facility is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification that was given.
