Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of treatment.

Individuals who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
