If an individual in Miami needs substance abuse treatment but doesn't have health insurance or the funds to pay for treatment in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is possibly an option to look into. ATR is a federally-funded plan which makes it possible for individuals to access treatment facilities and support including inpatient, regular outpatient, intensive outpatient, counseling, continuing care, recovery and life coaching, vocational training, skills building, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows individuals with vouchers to acquire rehabilitation and recovery support services for drug abuse disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR individuals must meet certain requirements, including: 1) must be 18 years or older, 2) have a history of substance abuse and addiction, 3) have an annual income that is less than 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
