Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
