The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
