Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Salina, Medicare will pay for certain recovery programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want additional health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
