Drug prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients. An opioid rehab program can receive basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification that was granted.
