The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency.
