SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Spray, OR.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Spray are programs that are officially allowed to dispense the medicines used in MAT being they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medicine such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment facility can get their initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years depending on the kind of certification that was given.
