SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Centerville, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Centerville are programs who are officially permitted to give out the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab program can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
