SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Glenside, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Glenside are programs who are legally permitted to distribute the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been given.
