The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
