Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require addiction recovery services in Oak Ridge, this program can pay for certain treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs administered by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want supplemental health insurance aside from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
