SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - Oley, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Oley are programs which are officially allowed to give out the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get auxiliary services aside from medicine such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
