SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Paradise, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Paradise are programs which are legally allowed to give out the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary services aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab center can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification it has been given.
