The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients.
