SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Renfrew, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Renfrew are programs who are legally allowed to dispense the medicines used in MAT being they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get auxiliary benefits in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can receive basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation that was granted.
