Medicare - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - St. Petersburg, PA.

Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require substance abuse treatment in St. Petersburg, Medicare will pay for various recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various kinds of treatment.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the person's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs for outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation. Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want supplemental coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
