SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Torrance, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in Torrance are programs who are legally permitted to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can get their basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation it has been granted.
