The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals.
