The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
